An Economic Apocalypse?

Sure, that’s a melodramatic title, but I heard someone say it on the radio and I really, really wanted to use it. Scale back the panic a few notches and it might be quasi-appropriate considering this:

The Fed is currently pumping about four billion dollars per day of funny money into the markets (mostly), which has turned stocks, bonds, and commodities into helium-filled balloons.

Turn off the helium-money all at once, and watch all those balloons turn into bricks.

Quite a sobering thought. Every day, I become more certain that I did the right thing by taking a chunk of money out of my retirement account and putting it into a house.
