On My MP3 Player

Have I mentioned that I bought a new mp3 player? It’s the same model as the last one, a Sansa Clip+, but with a capacity of 8 GB instead of 4 GB. I also bought a 16 GB microSD card for it. Consequently, I now have my entire music library of 4,140 songs (excluding classical and Christmas music) on one device with space to spare. I can put the player on shuffle and not hear the same song for weeks.

The last ten tunes I listened to were a remarkably obscure bunch:

  • “Playin’ in the Dirt” — Robert Cray
  • “Rosie” — The Becky Chace Band
  • “Pick Up Sticks” — The Dave Brubeck Quartet
  • “Amelia’s Waltz” — Natalie MacMaster
  • “Break Your Heart” — Barenaked Ladies
  • “Little Lion Man” — Mumford & Sons
  • “Armagnac Dreams” — Wynton Marsalis
  • “She Gave Good Sunflower” — The Black Crowes
  • “Ain’t It Strange” — The Patti Smith Group
  • “Mason’s Children” (live) — Grateful Dead
