Famous Dissenter Dies

Dissent is the highest form of patriotism.
Howard Zinn (1922-2010)

Leftist alternative-historian Howard Zinn, a long-time Political Science professor at Boston University, died yesterday.

Zinn was little known outside the far-left circles in which he moved. He was best known for the above quote, which during the George W. Bush administration was often misattributed to Thomas Jefferson by lesser minds who felt the need to elevate their contrarianism. In fact, while Zinn was no Thomas Jefferson, he was a brilliant mind for his time. He certainly deserved to be recognized for his ideas, which he held consistently and without apology.
