Wing Nut Watch
Today’s edition of WNW is something I found mentioned in a blog that was linked from another blog, etc. In other words, I don’t know whom to credit because I don’t remember where the trail started. That’s too bad, because I’d really like to credit the blogger who tipped me off to this beauty.
Thanks to the Traditional Values Coalition, I now know that gay rights promoters are actively recruiting children (Adobe Reader required) into the homosexual lifestyle.
As part of his campaign to legalize sex with children, [“homosexual pedophile” Gerald] Hannon and homosexual militants are pushing for aggressive recruitment programs in public schools. If you want children, what better place to find them than in public schools? After all, since homosexual couples can’t reproduce, they will simply go after your children for seduction and conversion to homosexuality.
Hannon, writing in the New York University Press book, Lavender Culture, laments the fact that the “gay rights movement” has not had large numbers of children involved. This must change, says Hannon. “At present, we do not have organizations that are chock-a-block full of young people…To attract young people to the gay movement in large numbers should be the challenge to the next phase of the movement. It is a challenge we have set ourselves.”
The tactics used by TVC to terrorize people are so many and intertwined that it’s hard to sort them out, but I’ll critique what I found in just the above quoted excerpt:
- TVC’s so-called “report” about homosexual recruiting doesn’t mention that Gerald Hannon is a way-out Canadian ex-professor who has not only advocated lowering age-of-consent laws, but also worked as a prostitute. As far as I’ve been able to tell, he isn’t affiliated with any gay rights organization.
- What TVC and similar groups don’t tell you is that there are also way-out heterosexuals who advocate sex with minors, including a breakaway Mormon cult leader in Texas who practices polygamy and allegedly married off underage girls to older men.
- The charge that gays want to “convert” children is substantiated by remarks about getting “young people” involved in the movement. But young people can include teens and young adults, and involvement can mean political involvement and support for gay rights in general. TVC’s report is vague on the definitions of the terms, and probably deliberately so.
- The report’s implication that heterosexuals would have sex with their own children if they could have them is not supported by information even suggesting that homosexuals adoptive parents are more likely than heterosexual parents to abuse their own children.
Anyone who looks to this group to gain factual information supported by even the flimsiest shred of evidence is sure to be sorely disappointed. The facts are far less sensational than the generalization and innuendo you’ll get from TVC, but hey, they have to use what little they have, right?
